At the International School of Switzerland, we understand that every student’s well-being is the foundation for their academic and personal success. Our Pastoral Care Program is dedicated to fostering a nurturing, supportive environment where students feel safe, valued, and empowered to thrive.
Our pastoral care goes beyond traditional support systems, focusing on the whole student—their emotional, social, physical, and spiritual well-being. Through proactive strategies and a responsive framework, we aim to help students navigate challenges, celebrate successes, and build resilience.
1. Dedicated Mentorship: Each student is assigned a mentor who provides personalized guidance and support throughout their educational journey. Mentors meet regularly with students to discuss goals, address concerns, and celebrate achievements.
2. Mental Health and Emotional Support: We offer access to professional councelors and mental health resources to help students manage stress, anxiety, and other challenges. Regular well-being workshops provide practical tools for emotional regulation and self-care.
3. Inclusive Community: We foster a culture of inclusivity and respect, where students from diverse backgrounds feel welcomed and valued. Our programs promote empathy, understanding, and global citizenship.
4. Peer Support Systems: We cultivate peer-led initiatives such as buddy programs and student-led well-being committees, empowering students to support each other and build a strong sense of belonging.
Well-Being Wednesdays: Dedicated sessions focused on mindfulness, stress management, and positive thinking.
House System: A supportive network that encourages collaboration, healthy competition, and camaraderie.
Community Circles: Regular gatherings that allow students and staff to share experiences and build deeper connections.
Parent Partnership: Workshops and resources to help parents support their children’s well-being at home.
Safety and security are at the heart of our pastoral care. We maintain clear policies and procedures to ensure a safe learning environment, and our staff are trained to recognize and respond to any issues promptly and sensitively.
“If we teach today as we taught yesterday, we rob our children of tomorrow.”
