At the International School of Switzerland, we believe the final years of high school should be as unique as the student. We are proud to be one of the few schools in Switzerland designed around a dual-curriculum pathway. Starting in Grade 10, we provide a foundational year of academic discovery, preparing students to choose the global qualification that best aligns with their future: our established Advanced Levels (A-Levels) or the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme (for which we are currently a Candidate School).

Grade 10 serves as a transition into the final years of secondary school. Students take courses across the sciences, humanities, and the arts while continuing to develop the research, writing, and critical thinking skills that will support them in either the IB Diploma Programme or A-Levels.
During Grade 10, students receive individual guidance as they consider their next academic step. Through conversations with school staff, students reflect on their strengths, interests, and future goals while deciding whether the IB Diploma Programme or A-Levels is the best fit for them.

In Grades 11 and 12, students pursue advanced study through A-Levels or the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme, pending IB authorization.
Coursework emphasizes critical thinking, independent research, and academic communication in preparation for university study. A-Levels allow students to specialize in a smaller number of subjects, while the IB Diploma Programme provides a broader academic program across multiple disciplines.
During these final years, students receive guidance as they explore university options and future pathways. Through academic advising and mentorship, students are supported in developing strong study habits, preparing applications, and planning their next steps after graduation.
