Language Program

Core Languages

Our Language Program focuses on mastering the three primary languages spoken in our region, creating a multilingual environment where students can thrive.

  • English: As the primary language of instruction, we emphasize academic English, building proficiency in reading, writing, speaking, and listening across all subjects.
  • Italian: Given our location in Ticino, Italian is a vital part of the curriculum. Students gain fluency in both formal and everyday language, enriching their connection to the region.
  • German: As one of Switzerland’s official languages, German is offered at varying levels, from beginner to advanced, allowing students to communicate confidently in academic and social contexts.

Common European Framework & Placement

Our language courses follow the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR), which ensures that students are placed in classes according to their proficiency level. Upon joining the school, students are tested in their chosen language(s) to assess their skill level, and they are then placed in classes with others at a similar proficiency level. This system allows our teachers to provide tailored support and helps students progress through the levels efficiently.
