House System

At the International School of Switzerland, our House System is more than just a tradition — it’s a vibrant community where students forge lifelong friendships, develop leadership skills, and experience the thrill of teamwork. Rooted in our values of Kindness, Innovation, Navigation, and Discovery, the house system ignites school spirit and provides opportunities for every student to shine.

What Makes the House System Special?

1. House Challenges:
From sports tournaments and trivia competitions to arts showcases and charity drives, every house challenge is an opportunity to earn points and celebrate diverse talents.

2. Leadership Opportunities:
House captains and committees play a pivotal role in planning events, motivating members, and upholding the spirit of their house.

3. Community Connection:
Through cross-grade collaboration, students form bonds that transcend classrooms and age groups, creating a true sense of belonging.

4. Rewards and Recognition:
The coveted House Cup is awarded at the end of the year to the house with the highest points — a symbol of unity, achievement, and school pride.

How It Works

  • House Allocation:
Every student is welcomed into a house upon joining ISS. Siblings join the same house to strengthen family ties within the system.

  • Earning Points:
Students contribute to their house by excelling in academics, participating in co-curricular activities, demonstrating exemplary behavior, and winning house events.

  • Events Calendar:
The school year is packed with house events, from the high-energy Sports Day to the creative House Arts Festival and the impactful Community Service Week.
